So when my mac (early ‘15 current iOS) is asleep, and I press the keyboard to ‘wake’ it. It makes a quick whirring and then some crackles which I assume is it ‘gearing up’ to.. do stuff. A computer stretch and yawn if you will, However.. sometimes it makes this noise when I’m nowhere near it and nothing is setting it off.. the screen doesn’t turn on but the noises go. Occasionally it does this in a cycle to the point I have to turn it off as trying to sleep with that going off every two minutes is tricky. Other times it may only do it up to say, 4-5 times before it stops. Any ideas why my mac is talking in its sleep? Should I be worried?
First, please check to see if you have a disk in the optical drive. On a standard keyboard there is an eject key in the upper right hand corner or you can restart holding down the mouse button.
