Chosen Solution
i have followed all of apples support tips, restarted apple mobile services, removed all of Itunes components for a clean re-install. i tried resetting my iphone to factory default now its stuck in limbo cause of the same error message “This device has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it” what do i do to fix it please???? i have just about given up and cant think of anyway to fix it and now all i have is a $200 paperweight!!!!!!!!! :( note: it doesn’t even show up in Itunes either and i’m running Itunes 11.3.1 and under device manager its “unknown device” cant update drivers, nothing! Does anyone know what would be wrong hardware-wise????
leave it powered off for 5 days this is like disconnecting the battery thus it will reset itself and reboot when powered on..also try other usb connections and charging cables I have this thing happen all the time..have you downloaded sumthing that has interferred with usb docks..try an early system restore see if that helps..
mine has done the same thing also
