https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/co… My previous post is here in reddit and pics of the lcd flex cable the connector in lcd and motherboard also I’m ordering a new flex lcd it cost me 7 dollars(378pesos) So as I was about to on my laptop(acer aspire VX-15)(VX5-91G) It flickers and glitch out so as a quick fix I reinserted the flex cable display(the one in the screen display) but here’s the catch before even successfully reinserting the flex connector it got awkwardly slide in and cause a small spark. After that my laptop seems to be not opening it still has the blue screen indicator meaning it’s charging and the red back lit keyboard is not working anymore as it sync when I open my laptop is this a short circuit or what??? In the case of my battery it does work but only for 30 seconds when left uncharged. Anyway I used to not use the battery before. For I plug in play before and it just so happened to work after reinstalling and upgrading to windows 11 from windows 10 because of my previous corrupted OS. If the mainboard and lcd is hypothetically fried is there nothing I can do??? Are there degree of damages that can be possibly fix and what fix is it anyway? I’ve hooked up the laptop in our tv and it’s still not working. The keyboard is not litting up nor the acer logo in the screen.(update) laptop ](https://ibb.co/rmxYzzL) the tv blue signal the connection Also the charger doesn’t get hot as usual so maybe problem with charger or what??(udpate) Also sorry for my english for it is not my native tongue. I need help so bad cause in our country being ripoff in tech fix repair shop is prominent and I don’t wanna go there as much as possible.
Hi @dzh77 , Presumably you had the battery and /or the charger connected when you reinserted the video cable, is this correct? Golden rule with electronics - Always disconnect all the power from the circuit before removing/replacing any parts or components, cables etc. You can see what happens if you don’t. For a start, you will need the schematics so that you know where to check that all the various voltage supply circuits on the motherboard are OK. Here are some links to suppliers for a Compal LA-E361P C5PM2 Rev: 1.0 motherboard schematic. I couldn’t find any free ones online so you will have to buy them. I assume that this is the make and model number of your motherboard. The information should be printed on the motherboard itself so that you can verify that it is or not. Supplier 1 Supplier 2 If you don’t know how to read schematic diagram and/or you don’t know how to safely test electronic circuits, contact a reputable, professional laptop repair service and ask for a quote. Also FYI Win11.0 may not have worked that well in your laptop even though Microsoft now says that it will work with older computers. Initially it was for computers using Intel >8th Gen CPU (your model has a 7th Gen CPU) and the motherboard need to have to have TPM 2.0 (Trusted Platform Module) as well (I don’t know if yours has or not - if you can get the laptop working check in BIOS). Here’s a link that may help with this.
