Hello everyone, my battery is defected, I have the warning ‘service battery’ which means I need to change the battery asap. However I have issues with Apple and they are not fixing it for free - even though it is classified as a defected macbook pro - Anyways right now I don’t want to use the computer while I have the warning sign… I am okay with using the computer plugged in all the time. What I want to ask is, is there any way that I can disable the battery? So I won’t be harming my computer, I just don’t want it to function it at all… PS: I try to buy a battery from ifixit but it is not possible for them to ship it to my country… so sad, if anyone knows another good company that sells macbook battery I would be so happy to hear that

Have you contacted Corporate Apple directly 13-inch MacBook Pro (non Touch Bar) Battery Replacement Program https://www.apple.com/support/13inch-mac… What country are you in and did you go to an Apple Store or an Authorized Service Provider?

Well, you are going to experience performance drops significantly but if that’s what you wish, one answer coming right up! Frankly I would just remove the battery in general and store it in a well ventilated place. You can remove the battery with the guide below, and I also highly recommend you buy the adhesive remover too so you do not risk tearing or puncturing the battery while attempting to remove the battery. I am asking this so I can see if I can source you a battery that can be shipped to your country.
