I replaced my charging port recently & after starting up my iphone 7 the front-facing camera wouldn’t work & I couldn’t hear any calls taken not on speakerphone. I think I failed to reconnect something after reassembly, but don’t know what it’d be. Thanks for the help!
The front facing camera and receiver speaker signals are transmitted to the logic board on the same flex cable, which is the top one that comes off the display. It sounds like you may be correct that it didn’t get plugged in properly. I would reseat that cable. And double check that none of the foam that surrounds the connector on the logic board accidentally got pushed into the connector itself. Otherwise the cable could have been inadvertently torn, in which case that assembly can be replaced independent of the display.
