Chosen Solution I bought an imac at the end of 2013,its has the i5 chip in it, can i replace it with the i7? Ive allready maxed out the ram and installed a 512 gb samsung 840 pro ssd. That model came with an i7 as an option so if you can find a logic board, you can swap it in. The CPU is replaceable. Chosen Solution I have a 6s. I had a smashed screen so I ordered a generic replacement from eBay. The ribbon cable connectors did not align the same way the factory cables did. I had to push one cable behind another and mangle things so every cable plugged into the correct spot. Is this just a symptom of buying cheap parts or did I do something else wrong? Also now it won’t charge and has a little light area near the top right of the screen....

Chosen Solution I have a MacBook “Core 2 Duo” 13” A1278 Late 2008 here with a completely dead superdrive. It seems to be detected by OS but does not take in DVD’s at all. The original superdrive has been replaced with a 2010 superdrive. The retailer told me the screw holes are slightly off, but it should be compatible. Upon mounting I observe that although the superdrive is detected, takes in DVD’s, it decides to eject them after 10 seconds of spinning....

Usually these issues are due to bad capacitors, especially on retail friendly brands like Acer. They often use CrapXon (CapXon) capacitors, which always fail given 4-5 years of use. It’s just a matter of when. Depending on if the power supply is internal or external, you may need to inspect two different boards....

Here is a link that hopefully may be of some help. If you cannot see (or test, using a DMM- digital multimeter) what the problem is, take some close up pictures of the motherboard and perhaps someone will be able to help you further....

Chosen Solution I replaced the battery in my early 2015 retina macbook using the ifixit kit. Everything went fine and the device powered up after repair. The battery charged completely overnight and I fully discharged it the next day as in the instructions. Couple days later, the battery won’t charge and shows “Battery is Not Charging” in the battery dropdown. The battery is recognized by the computer and it shows 2 cycles, good battery health, etc… But it isn’t being charged by usbC....
Chosen Solution Hey I want answer in battery Thanks First check the terminals are clean on both the battery and the notebook, if dirty then clean the first with an eraser, if the clean up ok, if not use a very fine sandpaper to clean the terminals, replace the battery and charge the battery, if battery does not charge then the next best fix is to buy a new battery, will work then....
