I‘d like to build a White 5c with white Face plate and SE Motherboard, a 5c Second Edition so to speak. After some research and finding supply source for a White 5c front plate and Home Buttons (including “fake fingerprint“option) only few questions remain: Most of my research was on Google and finds have been of 5s parts into a 5c.Has the SE differences in screw or connections layout and types as compared to a 5s or are these the same ?Is it possible to install a fingerprint button into a 5c front plate and how to move over the assembly of board and fingerprint sensor without disconnecting and thus disabling fingerprint? Did I overlook something substantial or is it, asides of fingerprint, really as easy as swapping the mainboard? Thanks in advance for advise! Update (02/24/2019) Considering the other way around as well- am be easier with the Touch ID homebutton: Using a SE and changing the screen assemblies plastic frame to a 5c frame, would buttons still line up, same with antenna gaps and mounts ? A rear case, camera/ flash module board, the display frame and battery adhesive stripes may be all that is required to convert a SE into the lovely 5c‘s format.
Hello, Your project is quite ambitious ! Actually, all parts of a 5C, 5S and SE are different. The display for example is really different, you can’t fit a 5S display into a 5C enclosure. Also, you can’t connect a 5C display on a SE mother board (although the display used in the 5S and SE models are the same, and you can swap them - good to know for future projects I guess). Aside from the screen, even the buttons, the dock connector, the earpiece or even the cameras are not the same. These parts are specific to each model. To sum up, your project is : putting all the iPhone SE internals into an iPhone 5c enclosure. This may be possible, but keep in mind that the screws to fix everything are not at the same place between these two.
