I am trying to reconnect the antenna cable to the logic board. It will not connect no matter what I do. I have tried so many times. It is the original cable and logic board which I removed to clean after water damage. I think I got the antenna connected a couple of times but it just pops back out. What should I do?
Just to confirm this is the antenna connector that is located near the battery connector near the edge of the board right? If yes, the problem might be that the gold ring or the dot in the gold ring is bent or damaged. When that happens it does not let the antenna cable plug in and will keep popping up. The recommended way to get this fixed is to get the connector replaced on the board. If it’s the cable connector on the antenna cable itself that is damaged then either the charging port assembly needs to be replaced or another antenna cable soldered onto there. Might want to post some photos of it here so we have a better idea of what we are looking at: Adding images to an existing question
Your antenna connector doesn’t seem to have any drastic damage, although it is a bit hard to see. These connectors typically give me a lot of grief, so my usual way of dealing with them is to carefully position the female above the male with tweezers and push down with a spudger or another pair of tweezers. You should feel a bit of a click or give. To make sure it’s properly seated, give it a bit of a nudge on the side.
Hello Seth! As i can see your antenna cable connector has been damaged and need to be replaced.
