I’d like to upgrade the logicboard in my late 2012 27” iMac so it can have a newer chipset, and faster processor (currently it has a i7 3.4ghz processor). Is this possible?
Sadly you are limited to what this series offered iMac13,2. While the case externally looks the same the internals are often moved about so there is no way to just replace one part without needing to replace more parts. Before you know ti you’ve bought a new system and then some ($$). It you need something more powerful look at the used market and then after migrating your stuff over clean yours and turn around and sell it!
