Is the CPU soldered or should I search for a logic board with the i7 option to replace?I already did a RAM upgrade.

Unfortunately, the CPU is soldered directly to the logic board. You’re probably going to be better of finding a logic board with a 3.1GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor.
