I have a macbook 1181 mid 2009 it had 2x2gb ram and it was slow, I went with a ssd and it loaded faster, then I tried 1x 2gb and 1x 4gb 6gb total still was not fast enough then I went to 2x4gb 8gb total big improvement. And I am run High Sierra and downloaded NVIDIA GPU Boost 2.0 which boosts graphics performance and Geforse now which uses NVIDIA cloud graphics.
