can i upgrade airdrop on an old macbook

Sorry No, AirDrop needs the newer AirPort board which your system can’t support physically. References: AirDropHow to tell if your Mac supports AirDrop, a device-to-device wireless file transfer feature

I have a 2011 MacBook 17 " . After Reading through many forums i changed the Bluetooth Chip as per the specifications as listed below. But Airdrop & Airplay don’t seem to work. I know some of them have got it working. Don’t know where i missed out. Any help on this would be highly appreciated.
