Review these two guides: iMac Intel 27" Retina 5K Display 2019 Blade SSD ReplacementiMac Intel 27" Retina 5K Display 2019 Hard Drive Replacement Now keep in mind the PCIs/NVMe blade SSD is almost twice as fast as the SATA III (6.0 Gb/s) HDD drive port (with a SSD). So why do you want to cripple your system? Update (04/26/2021) @yair_9 - Use both! You have two independent ports the PCIe/MVMe blade drive (1TB) and you have the SATA port. While Apple expected it to be used for 3.5" HDD’s they is nothing stopping you to use it for a 2.5" SSD using an adapter frame and the needed cables. You’ll leave the OS and your apps on the blade drive and then use your 2.5” SSD for holding your work. You’ll loose quite a lot of performance pulling out the blade SSD.
