Hi everybody. I recently bought an iPhone X with a broken earpiece speaker. I thought it would be an easy fix to solder a new earpiece speaker onto the flex cable until I saw that someone else already tried to do so. Since I don’t have a multimeter on hand I was wondering if I can take the earpiece flex cable with sensors from my own iPhone X and use it to test the other iPhone X, to see if it’s a board-level issue or a flex cable assembly issue. Will Face ID break on my own iPhone X or is it fine to use it to test the other iPhone? Sorry for my bad English… Thanks!
You can use it to test it on the other phone and it won’t hurt it. Unless you damage the cable. But you can put a complete cable with the earpiece speaker and proximity sensor but face Id won’t work. But you can use the other one and it won’t damage yours.
