I have a 1990 Geo Metro that has been sitting for about 12 years. It now won’t start. I’ve already looked at everything, spark, compression, ecm, electrical wiring, relays, etc everything is good. I took out the rear seats to access fuel pump connector. There is 12v there. But fuel pump is not spinning up. It is in 12 year old fuel that smells awful. I really don’t want to drop the fuel tank unless I have to, is there any way I can try to get this one working?
@carsman248 since you have 12V on the pump it is the pump itself that will have failed. Could be anything and most likely not an easy in the field repair. I would try an inline electric fuel pump hooked up to the fuel line somewhere. In theory it should get the fuel even through the failed pump.
