My Xbox power button stopped working altogether and I have to use the disc tray button to turn it on or unplug it to turn it off (which if I plug it back in it will shut off after a few minutes), and I’m sick of dealing with this. I want to replace the power button, but I haven’t found anything actually helpful, just complex boards. Can I cut the wires and attach a power toggle switch to the wires, or will that just break it further?
Hi, Have you checked the teardown of the Xbox (Xbox Disassembly). The last two pictures give you a good idea of the cables of the power button (yellow ribbon). If you want and are capable you could figure out which of these cables are connected to the power button, and replace it with almost any other button. Enjoy, and be carefull Kind Regards, Brenda
