i recently got a galaxy note 8 as a hand-me down from my dad and i can’t stand the battery life my plan is to replace it with a battery from a galaxy note 9 here are the battery specs: the dimensions of the original battery are: 88 x 39 x 5 (mm) and the dimensions of the note 9 battery are: 87.7 mm x 41.5 mm x 6 mm we are talking about 2.7 millimeters of difference do you guys think its possible??

Hi @matfrags I love the idea as I know that Samsung batteries tend to be cross compatible. Your biggest issue unfortunately is that Samsung significantly changed the connector location between those generations so it will be practically impossible to connect the Note 9 battery once it’s installed… My recommendation in this case is to stick to an original quality replacement battery that you know will work so you don’t need to open this phone again once it’s repaired and working Hope this helps!

you can try to search for the dimension of samsung s7 active and a9 battery the size looks identical but i can’t find the dimension

It’s possible if you swapped battery protection circuit of note 8’s battery to note 9 my alcatel pixi 4 6 battery is swapped from 2500 mah to 4230 mah battery from oppo a3s

Good idea and i have same question because my Galaxy note 8 battery is nearly dead and i was thinking can i repace with note 9 battery?? but i took my answer that i cannot do that because they changed the place of battery connecter :(
