Hi! So I’m about to buy a new MacBook, and I can get $500 trade in for my current mid 2015 retina (15in). Problem is, I have A TON of sentimental value backed in this machine. Maybe too much to give it up. As a happy medium, I hoped I could replace the lid case so I can keep all my stickers and mount it in a frame. Is there a way I can replace only the aluminum display case in my display assembly, rather than replacing the entire $600 display assembly itself? Meaning — replace the aluminum display casing but keep the screen/display itself in tact. EDIT: I guess this would be called the “display cover” as opposed to the entire display
Sorry ;-{ The newer 2016 and onward systems use a very different design as such you can’t transplant the full lid or even the metal shell to it.
