On the ribbon apparatus for the 160GB iPod classic there is a white plastic “box” behind the headphone jack. Can this be safely removed? Can the 160GB version of the jack be used on the 120GB version?
The Headphone Socket is glued in. Review this guide iPod Classic Headphone Jack & Hold Switch Replacement. Apple made different ones for the different backs. You really need the correct one other wise its too loose or you can’t get the front to fit properly.
