In this step, the front-facing camera and sensor cable are disconnected. I would like to know if the front camera is able to function without this cable being connected. I would like to disable my front camera.
In my opinion it is stupid to disable the camera for “privacy” reasons. You are not that important and if people really want to screw you, they’d do it through your mic, not your camera. Removing the front sensor flex may cause system errors that continually drain battery, unable to use the prox sensor and the earpiece speaker during a call. Just tape the camera over, instead of this pointlessly overkill.
The phone will work without the front camera flex connected. However, be aware that your voice dictation mic (siri mic), proximity sensor and earpiece speaker (not loud speaker) will not work. Is there an issue with the front camera?
