I woke up yesterday and the screen on my watch had disconnected and was just dangling. See photos. The display disconnected from the case of the watch. It’s still connected by the cable connectors, and the screen is still working, but I need to re-adhere the display, if possible. Can I just add some adhesive and reconnect it without having to replace any parts?
Hi @ifixitmaxb You’re with ifixit so perhaps there may be some suitable spare pieces of Tesa tape floating about that you can use to adhere the display back onto the case. ;-)
Hi Max, additionally to jayeff’s answer you maybe want to make sure there is no internal damage (swollen battery?) that caused the display to come off in the first place. When you deem everything fine, go ahead and close it with the linked adhesive.
I used T7000 adhesive to close fitbit versas when I repaired them. A small bead around the body, place the screen then wrap some elastic bands around the watch for 24 hours. Never had one come off again.
