Chosen Solution
My hard drive cable must be shot and is having the same problem I’ve found with others. Instead of having someone charge me over $100 to replace this, I’d rather do it myself. My hard drive cable’s apple number is: 821-00698-A and I can’t find one of those really anywhere (unless I don’t know where to look). Is it a bad decision to order a cable that has a different serial/apple number than the one I currently have?
@trichh I have come to the conclusion that with any Apple product, it is best to replace like with like. That way there is never any second guessing. This might just be the cable you need MacBook Pro 13" Unibody (Mid 2012) Hard Drive Cable If nothing else do a search for 923-0104 for more options if needed.
