I have an iphone 8 with a replaced screen and LCD, I have accidentally ripped the ribbon cable for the proximity sensor and camera, I put the screen and LCD on the phone and tried turning it on, the phone does turn on but the screen will not turn on. Is it because I put it back together without the proximity sensor?
The phone will boot just fine without the proximity sensor. It’s best to use replacement displays without a front camera and sensor assembly already attached as they’re usually poor quality. If you damaged the original camera and sensor assembly you can get it replaced for a few bucks. While you did your screen replacement did you make sure to disconnect the battery? And where did you buy your replacement screen from?
