Reason why I want to do this, is because I dont have a lot of money to spend on a replacement screen and have actually been burned on a cheap £25 one, which has terrible ghosting/motion blur and also has phantom touches after some use, the seller has refunded me 30% and let me keep the screen so theres that. But I am so annoyed and frustrated by these issues that I’m strongly considering going back to my old screen, which while cracked and missing glass around the home button (allowing it to move and pull up out of its space) worked fine and had no screen/digitizer damage. This is why I want to know if I can safely super glue the home button to its metal bracket, either directly gluing the center back of the button, or the gasket, or both, whichever will work best and keep the button secure, Ill be putting a glass screen protector on the screen as well which could help keep it aligned/show me when its coming away. Would this work? and would the button be damaged in the process? I do have a spare button that I can use to test, but if it wont work Id rather find out first.
I would not recommend using super glue or any liquid type of glue on the home button or anywhere close to internal parts. It can make more bad than good. If you still want to keep your old glass i would recommend putting a piece of tape over it that will keep it in place until you decide to get a new screen.
