The power button on my Mac is not working/responding to touch. I assume there is issues with the entire keyboard, as the night before certain keys were having other issues (letter keys triggering shift key, keys triggering brightness, certain keys not working at all, etc.) I know it isn’t an issue with battery, because when I plug in my charger, it lights up green and I know it was fully charged the night before I shut it off and it wouldn’t turn on again. Seeing as all apple stores are shut, and taking it to a third party would probably involve having it sent off for repair, do any of you know what the direct issue/fix might be, and is it something I could repair myself right now? I have the P5 screwdriver needed to take apart the back of the computer. I cannot do any resets such as the SMC (I have tried), as the keys are not working, and I know it is not a spill/water issue as I have not ever spilled anything on my laptop. Thank you in advance for any help/answers.

Apple is probably still doing “Depot Repairs”, It worth a try. Call Apple and request a “Flat Rate Depot Repair”. The usual total time for this is five days. Apple overnights you a packing box. I don’t know if this would be a tier one or tier two level repair. The Tier one runs about $355 and their two About $550. It’s worth making a phone call to find out. 1-800-MYAPPLE
