Chosen Solution
So i was studying late last night…I spilled water onto my mac. A significant amount, but initially it didn’t seem like there was anything wrong - no immediate screen damage or power issues like my last one. I put it in the tripod near a fan overnight. I think in my sleepiness I hit “sleep” and not “shut down”…This morning I turned it on to see 1/2inch of my left screen is now black with some verticle streaks. I have an exam I need to take with my macbook tomorrow (just my luck) so I have a few questions: Can I fix this myself If I use some simple tutorial or is this type of damage needing repair at the level of some type of replacement?Will this damage get any worse? As much as I would like to power my computer off and take it to the apple store - if I can hold of 1 more day and use my computer…I really need it for tomorrow.About how much is this going to cost me? No extended applecare
Ouch! Not good! The displays columns on the far left are black! Basically the power is not getting to their lines. At this point the damage is done! You’ll need a new display assembly!
