I was at the gym and accidentally dropped a 45lb dumbbell on my OnePlus 5 and it crushed the motherboard, so now the phone doesn’t work. Is it ever possible to extract information (photos, videos, contacts, etc) from motherboards when they have been crushed? It’s still in one piece, but I’m no cellphone expert, so I’m really not sure about any of this.

Hello Tristan, You will need to extract from the phone the SIM card (if it has one), and the SD card (a memory card). Hopefully your phone was set up to save things to to the SD card, if so, then most of your contacts, pictures and apps may be on it and will be accessible once inserted into a computer SD card reader or it is placed in a new phone. Perhaps there is also the possibility that your phone service provider for the phone also could have a backup of all the contacts, and such as part of their service. So when you activate a replacement phone all those items will be downloaded to the phone once activated. I hope this helps! Rich Lilja
