I am trying to update my 2011 Mac from Mac OS X to Mac OS High Sierra but when I go to AppStore it says that the update requires a Mac OS version 10.8 or later (current version is 10.7.5). My question is: will I be able to update it if I do a RAM upgrade, because currently I have 4GB memory and High Sierra has 4.80GB. I’m asking because I don’t want to pay for an upgrade and not be able to update it anyway.
You would be fine with 4Gb of ram, the Minimum Requirements for High Sierra are 2Gb. However I would certainly consider upgrading to at least 6Gb as things do seem to hang up a bit on the lower ram amounts.
