Hello , can I physically replace the storage chip (the entire part as and if needed) in my iphone 8 from 64GB to 256 GB? is it possible and will it work?

Hi Yes you can but this isn’t recommended iPhone boards are very densely packed and they are also very thin which means they conduct heat very well Although this is seen as a good thing on a iPhone that can be quite bad as it can cause things to reflow which can cause shorts However if you know what you are doing and you are careful it’s possible You will just need to replace the Nand chip and programme it with the original data from the old one This can be quite expensive when you consider that the nand is expensive alongside the reprogramming machine and if anything unexpectedly reflows incorrectly it could cause more problems So in my opinion it’s just worth making a backup and selling your old logicboard and buying a new one just to be in the safe side Hopefully this helps Any questions please ask Thanks:-)

Possible with soldering and reprogramming, if you need to ask, you can’t do it, find someone else to do it for you.
