Hi, my GPU died so i want to replace it. Guys in the service can do that, but the problem is to find where to buy this GPU model. New or used doesn’t matter. I’ll appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.
If your GPU went you’ll need to replace the complete logic board. Here’s the IFIXIT guide: iMac Intel 27" EMC 2546 Logic Board Replacement. If you jump down to Step50 you can see the two large chip mounts the one to the right of the Green marked screw is the GPU chip and the one to the left is the CPU. The next steps walk you though taking the heatsinks off for both.
I am not finding that GPU. I did find the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675MX and the GeForce GTX 660M What is the CPU on your machine?
