Hi everyone I have Retina 5K mid-2015 27” recently i want to upgrade it , i check the cpu is i5-4590 if i want upgrade to i5-5675C or i7-5775C is it possible? or just can use i7-4790 ?
Not understanding why you selected the i5-5675C or i7-5775C chips as Apple never used them. Keep in mind the systems firmware hosts the micro-kernel the given CPU needs. Apple only places in their firmware what the given series uses for CPU’s, as such you are limited to these CPU’s. As it turns out the I7-4790K is a CPU Apple used in this series. Make sure you get the correct version. As for upgrading the CPU its a bit tricky! Its very easy to damage the socket pins and/or not properly mount the chip. Make sure you tighten the screws in the correct order.
