I have an iPhone 6 in need of a battery replacement. I also have an iPhone 6 that is iCloud locked. I was wondering if it would be possible to safely use the iCloud locked phone’s battery in the other phone. I know that parts on iPhones are sometimes locked to that specific phone and can’t be used without transferring over the serial numbers, so does that apply here to? I also know that iCloud locked iphones have many drawbacks on which parts you can re-use from them, so would that effect this transfer?
You shouldn’t have an issue transferring those parts over. One thing I would recommend with taking those batteries out is taking out the Taptic engine(only 2 screws) to remove the pull strips and don’t lift too high up. If you do end up breaking the strips use a bit of isopropyl and heat to loosen up the tape and gently pry. since you want to reuse the battery you don’t really want to bend the battery and take your time.
