I’d dropped my Huawei P9 a few months ago and the screen broke pretty badly. I finally ordered a LED+Digitizer from iFixit and got my screen replaced just last week. But now, when I try to open my camera app, the black rectangle animation of the app opening just barely reaches the edges of my screen before the app crashes/force closes. I’ve tried seeing if the camera will work on other apps, but it will force close Instagram and just gives me a black screen on Messenger. I went back to the guy who helped me replace my screen. He opened my phone up again to check the camera pins and he said the camera pins were fine. He even connected my phone to the old screen again to see if there might’ve been an issue there(?) but the camera app and flashlight were still not working. He insists that it’s a software issue and that I need to factory reset my phone, which I’m all but ready to do, but I wanted to reach out into the community and see if anybody had other ideas about what the issue might be. It’s a Huawei P9 EVA-L09. My camera and flashlight were working absolutely fine before the screen replacement. (Everything was still working smoothly except for the screen, really.) Thanks in advance for any help!

Hey, you could indeed try to reset it. But I don’t think that will help. While replacing the lcd did you disconnect the camera?

I solved the problem of camera and flashlight missing on my Huwei P9. It was due to the loose connector that holds both devices pins inside the top part of the phone. It can happen after opening the phone to replace other parts, because you sometimes need to take away and put back this connection. It can also happen whent the phone falls, the connector gets loose. So you must ask for opening and attach again this connection. In my case we needed to do it several times before having it tight enough, otherwhy it would happen again after a few weeks. Luckily this part is easy to access.

Let the battery discharge completely until the phone turns off. Charge the phone for five minutes. Then turn it on and test the camera. That worked for me. You do not need Hard reset or anything complicated

https://www.techjunkie.com/how-to-fix-ca… “Restart the Huawei P9 (hold the “Power” button and the “Home” button at the same time for 7 seconds until the phone turns off and vibrates). Go to Settings, open the Application manager and then go to the Camera app. Select on Force stop, clear data and clear cache. Restart your phone again”. That worked for me. Good luck.

I just installed Open Camera and it is giving me the message that says “failed to open camera. Camera may be in use by another application? ID:0”

It’s because of electricity in the board.. try remove battery and after a minute connect it again. It will fix.. good luck.
