Hello i recently replaced my battery in my iPhone 7 however I accidentally broke the camera flex cable when trying to get the original battery out as it is stuck like $@$* to a blanket lol. I got the battery out and changed it and the phone is working again, and I know I need to get a new camera flex to get my front facing camera working again…my fault I know, but does the camera flex cable behave anything to do with my call speaker not working? I.e. if I replace the camera flex will my speaker start working again? Tia :).
The speaker you’re describing is the ear speaker and yes that is linked to the front camera flex cable. Once you replace that cable, it should fix your ear speaker problems so long as there aren’t any board level issues. The front camera assembly is home to not only the front camera, but the ear speaker, proximity sensor, and ambient light sensor.
