Hi all My iPod classic 80gb, mb147 is not working right anymore. I opened the case and cleaned the motherboard with iso alcohol. The 4 buttons and the touch wheel are not responding. The iPod syncs and powers normal. Could it be the battery? Or something else? Thanks in advance!
Uas does absolutely not sound like a battery issue. The clickwheel not working and the buttons not working could be an issue with the clickwheel. The buttons are only switches that are mechanically activated by the clickwheel pressing the contact down. Unlikely that all of them will have failed at the same time. I suggest that you start with a clickwheel replacement. Use these guides to work on your iPod.
