Chosen Solution

Hi, I was in a lab using my computer and somehow didn’t see that there was a small (rather sharp) metal fallen in the space between the bottom and the screen. Basically when I closed my MacBook I there was a small tension and a little crack, when I opened it to check i had broken the bottom part of my screen (the black matte part where it says “MacBookPro”) and there was a line on the screen from top to bottom. From further inspection I figured it out that I may have damaged the brown screens flex cable. I am wondering if there is a way to change the brown flex cable without changing the whole screen and ripping out the whole laptop. I already found a replacement for the black matte screen part. But the line on the screen is annoying and I would like to fix it without buying a whole new screen. I added pictures to better understand my problem.

Sadly your display is not repairable. The glass part of the LCD panel and the ribbon flex cable can’t be fixed as the needed skills are in the class of a a brain surgeon and has the technical knowledge of how LCD are designed if it’s even remotely fixable. Here’s the needed part MacBook Pro 13" Retina (Late 2016-2017) Display Assembly and here’s the guide to put it in. With the needed tools as outlined in the guide you can even put the display assembly it your self (no brain surgeon needed).
