I have broken my display. It is not the glass that is broken, but something inside in the upper left corner. In the Apple shop I have been told that it would cost around 900 EUR, and that is a little bit tooo much! I found the guide to change it by myself here on ifixit, but I am not sure where to buy the correct display for my Macbook pro 15’’ Retina Mid 2015.. And also, I am kinda scared to actually do the whole replacement by myself, since there are many steps and it could be dangerous for the rest of the laptop. Please take a look at the picture: Picture
Yes, indeed you broke your LCD screen you can see the line of the panels base sheet which is the crack. You likely banged the corner or something dropped on the lid. Surprisingly the cover glass has a rubber gasket which softened the blow so it didn’t crack. I would recommend replacing the complete lid assembly Vs the discreet LCD panel here as we don’t know how bad things are on the inside and its a lot more work. Here’s the IFIXIT guide you’ll need to follow: MacBook Pro 15" Retina Display Mid 2015 Display Assembly Replacement and here’s the part you’ll need: MacBook Pro 15" Retina (Mid 2015) Display Assembly. It’s not that hard as long as you take your time and follow the guides. Just be delicate with the connectors are they can be broken with little force.
