Hey, The Macbook was dead from beer damage. I cleaned the board and its booting now. It seems to detect the battery but its not charging or powering on from battery (probably low). The magsafe light is always green. The system is pretty laggy, not sure if this is the normal slowdown from not having a working battery or something else. The part in the picture was still flat on the board so I didnt see it at first but the metal part was broke on one side. Part: 22 1E03

Can anyone tell me what part exactly this is? And what should I check to see if this is the only problem stopping the battery from working?

Mitja Henner that is a 22UF 25V 20% Poly -Tant capacitor in a Case-D2 package. It is part of your PBus and battery charging circuitry. Your board looks a little darker in that area, make sure that are no other burned components. It will help to post images straight down so it makes identification easier.

First of all, clean the board with isopropyl alcohol again. I can still see a bunch of dust. Clean it with a toothbrush and some isopropyl. After that, get a magnifier and check for burnt pins/ components. If they are burnt, replace them.
