Battery installed fine. No issues. Started it up and it was at 50%. Never any lightning bolt. Tried multiple USB C ports and multiple outlets. They worked with my ipad. Now the battery is at 7% and continues to drop. No sign of it charging. Any suggestions? Update (10/09/2022)
Hopefully this link will work to the screenshot of the Coconut Battery diagnostic screen I posted.
Hi @nealpender, I would suggest starting with downloading CoconutBattery and TG Pro.The first (Coconut) is dedicated to battery information, whilst the latter is for in-depth diagnosing of many components.I have had on occasion a battery that needed calibration, and iFixit has a nice post on this. I’d also send an email to support@ifixit.com and include any information they ask for.
A 2019 shouldn’t need a new battery for several more years. So I would bet the same thing was happening to your old battery. If so, the issue is not with the battery but with the charging circuitry.
