My Whirlpool model GSF6C4XY03 side by side The Freezer started defrost then stay warm, then the Fridge stay warm after that. I unplug it then plug it on back around 4pm, both Freezer and fridge start working back, ice is made. I leave it stay overnight and in the next morning, I saw ice is melted, both stay warm again, not cold at all. I have done twice and the issue is the same. Air is still flown from air duct which stay upper top inside freezer but the air is not cold like usual. I replace relay, capacitor, clean the coil at the bottom and behind the refrigerator but the issue isn’t fixed. Temperature is set up at standard : freezer 3F, fridge 37F.

I replace the Defrost Themostat by mr. Mayor help. It work well for 2 days. And then ice started melting and stay warm again, not make any cold in bold side.
When it works back, the cold air is blown out alot and strong. please help me again. Thank you

Hi @Oanh Luu , The compressor is mounted outside the compartments under the fridge and you should be able to “feel” it operating by placing your hand on the motor case. You should feel the vibrations and it should be warm to the touch. Be careful as it may be hot and watch out for the electrical connections as well . Here’s a link to the parts for your fridge. Click on the Unit Parts diagram and find part #28 and you will see the big object that is the compressor to get an idea what to look for. It is the compressor that pumps the refrigerant through the evaporator unit in the freezer to produce the “cold” that is blown by the evaporator fan through the freezer and refrigerator to cool them down to the set temps. If the evaporator unit, which is behind a panel inside the freezer compartment is not getting icy cold when the compressor is running then there is a problem with the sealed system, either a lack of refrigerant due to a leak, a blockage or a compressor problem. If there is a problem in the sealed system, check the warranty on the refrigerator as most manufacturers give a 5 year warranty on the sealed system. Only on the parts not on the labour though Due to environmental regulations regarding the handling of refrigerant gases the sealed system has to be checked by a licenced refrigerator repair service. If the compressor is not running then as you have already replaced the start relay and the capacitor there may be a problem with the compressor or the control board.
