I am trying to replace a battery in a MacBook Air and as soon as I put the new battery in, the device boots up. If I then turn it off, it boots up again within a few seconds. It seems impossible to turn it off so it stays off. Does this mean there has been a short somewhere? There was no water damage that I know of (not my machine). Thanks!
Reset SMC by Pressing shift + control + esc and use power button to boot into recovery mode in that there is an option to reset SMC
