Hello everyone, I just have tried to replace my iPhone 8’s display, but I got broken the home button flex cable
Get a out of warranty replacement phone from Apple (Will cost a quite a bit), once the home button is ripped it’s game over.
use another home button, but finger print will not work
You can put another button, you lost touch id and click function bit the phome work, or send to apple zo repair cc 150euro, or you can find some company make special the flex cable rrepair but is 50:50… is very unlucky this button :/
If you just need to get your iphone works just put a home button as it need to send single to the board, like the guys says you have lost ID touch and home button function
I have the same issue phone is severely damaged. I don’t care about the home button working but was wondering if the home button is required during the boot process. It is stuck in a boot loop. I can get it booting after a factory reset but after it boots once it starts to boot loop again. So back to the question. Will an iPhone 8+ be able to boot without home button? Thanks in advance
I have the same issue, fingerprint has small cut, the phone not booting, then I gave an experienced software engineer and he did it…the phone now is ok but fingerprint not responding again, I’m using assistive key.
I had the problem I repaired my phone myself new replacement home button new screen. Fired it up and stayed on boot mode. But then I use Dr Fone got it into DFU mode connect to Itunes logo disconnected from the lead and and plug it back again and opened up Itunes and restored it thru Itunes… You have to change access to voice talk thru Itunes as you don’t have a functioning home button…
I had the same problem until a minute ago and that’s how I found this post. If you have the tools just replace it with a replacement home button (doesnt have to be from apple) it will pass the boot loop and phone will turn on. After it turns on phone will automatically turn on assistive touch right above the actual home button so you can use that instead because home button functionality and touch id wont work. iPhone also displayed a message said something like “Home button needs service” and of course “Unable to activate Touch ID on this Phone” . Good Luck
