TV model number is TH P42U20A When TV is turned on green light flashes for several seconds & then red light blnks 8 times. This code is repeated (red 8 blinks) Originally - 1/ TV suddenly turned itself off & then restarted again. Ran normally for several days. 2/ This fault occurred more frequently & TV would only run for several minuted before shutdown. 3/ I tried resetting by disconnecting all cables, swapping power cable to different powerpoint etc. No luck 4/ Removed back panel to se if dust build up, it appears that this model does not have cooling fans. Inside of TV not particularly dusty. 5/ Plugged TV in only, turned on. Clicking noise heard & I can see several green lights on 2 boards. Don’t know which boards are which & can’t find an online service manual for this model. 6/ Now after switched on red light blinks 8 times. How do I fix? How do I get codes for this model All help greatly appreciated Dennis
Hi @grumpster56, Don’t know much about plasmas but here’s the service manual for the TV. Looking at the Power LED blinking timing chart in the manual the problem is either with the SS board or the SS2 board.
