Hi Guys, I need some advise regarding my Blaupunkt 32" TV / Monitor screen that pitch black. There very faint picture when I click on menu button on my remote, I thought could be the backlight that was faulty or something on main board that blew. So I opened the back case and saw capacitor that was swollen. Could this issue be backlight that faulty or cap that blew? Unfortunately I don’t have money to sent it for repairs
The Capacitor is the most likely culprit, if you can find the voltage and capacity specs you should be able to find a matching replacement relatively easily, replacing it might be a little tricky though, you would have to remove the board and desolder the old one, before soldering in the new one.
Franz MCkellar could be both, but you have to start fixing one first. If you truly have a capacitor that is swollen, then there will most likely be more than one. Consider a total recap of the board.
