I’m trying to repair a Samsung UN55J6201AF with some black vertical lines. The most common issue seems to be the TCON board so I started by replacing that. It didnt make a difference. Next I flipped the two ribbon cables coming from the TCON board hoping it might change where the issue was. No change. Any guidance on what to do next? Would it be worth it to try to change the main board? Is it definitely the panel? Any other ways to diagnose? Here’s a picture, the lines dont look exactly vertical or continual top to bottom but they are, the camera just moved a bit when I took the picture.
heya…. so replacing the tcon didnt work eh? that just leaves the main board and the display panel. the main board is cheaper than the display and easier to install. so, if youre dead set on repairing this unit, i would replace the main board first. i have had screen issues that i thought were tcon turn out to be the main board. heres a quick test to see if it is the main board or the panel….unplug the main board from the power supply. are the lines still there? if yes…panel, if not…try the main board.
