Just happened a couple hours ago, screen randomly went black. Tried force restarting, didn’t do anything. I got home and plugged it in and the removable disk popped up in Windows (didn’t show any files though I think because its passcode locked on restart?). I can start the phone (power button) and then shut down (power+home) and watch it pop on and off on windows and itunes, so the power is definitely working. If I turn on/off silent mode via the switch, it doesn’t vibrate like it usually does. I tried both updating and restoring through iTunes, screen is still black. I would say bad screen but wouldn’t that still give me functionality like the vibrate switch? If any more information is required please let me know.
Using the vibrate switch isn’t always acurate to show that it’s just the screen as I’m pretty sure u can turn off the vibrate option lol shine a torch on the screen see if it’s the backlight easiest way is if u hold the home and power button and then look for the apple logo faintly in the middle of the screen… if you don’t see anything then try a new screen If the phone was dropped then try the screen If it just happened look at the backlight or no image solutions (soldering required)
