Hello, i just bought a iphone 11 from a friend and the screen doesn’t turn on, when i try to use itunes it says it’s in dfu mode and when i try to repair the phone (with itunes) it says error 4014, i tried different cables, different computers (both pc and mac) and cleaned the lightning port but it did nothing. My friend said that the phone got dropped and never turned on since (the screen is looking perfect and it kinda turns on when i use itunes but it turn off again just after). And yes i tried some “repairs” like tapping around the screen and the back glass, force restart the phone (doesn’t do anything to this phone), put it in the freezer for 30 minutes, let it charge for an hour and nothing helped. Pls help me, i don’t wanna spend money on reiboot for example if i’m not sure it will work.

An iPhone that boots to DFU mode means there is a faulty component on the logic board. The main components to cause this error are a faulty CPU or NAND. Error 14 usually means the NAND is full or faulty. This will be a costly repair.  Reiboot or any other software claiming to fix this problem will not work.

Actually, cold is the wrong thing. Heat is crucial. Example a notebook, e.g. HP ProBook, which no longer starts. Remove all components, including the batteries, wrap the mainboard in tinfoil and put it in the oven (without circulating air) at 180°C (355°F) for 30 minutes. This not only fixes cold solder joints, but also erases memory contents like the CMOS. Of course, a smartphone is more complex, but maybe this will work. Take one more layer of tinfoil to be on the safe side.
