Hi, I have a UE49K5500 Samsung television. Today, while I was playing with a retro gaming device (raspberry PI 3 B+) connected through HDMI, the screen of the television became black and no sound. The standby led works, it is red and reacts to remote control. But the screen remains black. Sometimes appear a big central white message: “SMART TV”. I disconnected all cables (antenna and hdmi), but it still doesn’t work. some weeks ago a lightening damaged some devices in the apartment, even a raspberry connect to the television (then I replaced the rasberry). Since the lightening, in these weeks I used the television just for some hours. What could it be happen? How can I solve?
@piex81 try to see if this reset will work for you. While the TV is on, press and hold the EXIT button on the Samsung remote for 12 seconds. The standby light should blink the entire time without interruption. You should then see a factory reset screen giving you a warning message. Go ahead and select OK to reset the TV. Let us know what you get. If that does not yield any results you will have to go ahead and open the TV up. check the boards for obviously damaged components etc. Post some images of your boards with your question so that we can see what you see. The main board would be my prime suspect. Adding images to an existing question
