Chosen Solution
I recently replaced my screen and several weeks later I’ve got the black screen of death on startup. I tried resetting the PRAM,resetting the SMC, and tried various other startup key combinations to no avail.
Does an external screen work? Also did you try using a flashlight shining it though the Apple Logo can you see your desktop and the icons on it?
