Hello everyone, About a week ago, the screen went black and the fan running at full speed. I opened it to see if any cables were loose and tried trouble shooting myself. I found nothing out of the ordinary so I did bought a new temp sensor for the screen to see if that was the problem and that did not work. I plugged an external display in and it works fine but the computer runs very slow due to it thinking it’s over heating. I bought a new screen and ribbon cable, replaced them both and that did not work either. I also replaced the small 2032 battery on the logic board as I read somewhere that might help. Did multiple PRAM resets and booted in safe mode and still nothing. I have 3 of the 4 status LEDs lighting up which if I understand correctly, communication with the screen is not happening. I took a volt meter to the connector on the logic board that I believe is the backlight to the screen, the smaller 12 pin connector and could not get any read. After hours and hours of research, I haven’t found anyone to have this same problem which sucks… cause I’m guessing it’s a logic board issue. Can anyone chime in on what could be a possible fix? Thanks big time in advance.
Is the display off presently? If it is take a few tight pictures of the iDP (eDP) cable connector and the board connector so we can see the pins and the outer shell Adding images to an existing question
